Secondary battery manufacturing specialist Remplir Inc. (CEO Donghyun Kim) participated in 'DSK 2026,' held at BEXCO, Busan, for three days from Wednesday, February 25 to Friday, February 27.

Founded in 2019 with a team of experts in the lithium-ion battery field, Remplir is a company that goes beyond simple assembly. It internalizes both the manufacturing infrastructure and the technology for utilizing core materials, covering cathode materials (NCM, LCO, LFP) and anode materials (NG, AG, Si). According to the company, this enables them to produce high-quality secondary battery finished products that solve the stability and lifespan problems previously highlighted as limitations of conventional lithium batteries.

In addition, through collaborations with overseas automakers in the US and Germany, as well as major domestic conglomerates, Remplir has accumulated reliable references. Based on an annual production capacity of 500,000 cells, the company is expanding its business into various mobility sectors requiring high output, not only drone batteries but also electric forklifts.

At this exhibition, Remplir's main showcased solution was a lineup of custom batteries optimized for high-performance drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These batteries are designed to optimize output, C-rate, capacity, and energy according to customer requirements and operating environments, and notably, they obtained KC certification for prismatic LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells for the first time in Korea.

Given the domestically-produced product pipeline, high value is also expected in terms of security reliability. Remplir controls the entire battery manufacturing process with domestic technology to prevent supply chain risks and security threats that may arise from using foreign components. Moreover, by providing significantly improved stability and lifespan compared to existing products, these batteries demonstrate exceptional usability in military and industrial drones where long-term operation is essential.

Remplir plans to accelerate its entry into the global market with its participation in DSK 2026. In particular, it intends to focus on markets in the United States, Europe, and Israel, where demand for 'products manufactured by allied countries' has surged due to the effects of global economic bloc formation.

To this end, it is actively pursuing the acquisition of permits required by each country and securing intellectual property rights. In addition, it has prioritized supplying the Ministry of Defense and establishing itself in the North American market, accelerating customized research and development, commercializing products, expanding its market, and setting an annual sales target of 15 billion won this year.

Remplir aims to go beyond being a simple battery manufacturer and leap forward as a company supplying core energy solutions to global government and military partners. A Remplir official stated, “Drones are key assets in modern warfare and industrial sites, but the security and safety of their core, the battery, are often overlooked,” adding, “Remplir will supply the highest-performance batteries that customers can use with confidence through its unique domestic technology.” They further emphasized, “Based on the global network secured through this exhibition, we will demonstrate the status of the so-called 'K-battery' in the drone industry as well.”

Meanwhile, DSK 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, the Aerospace Administration, and the city of Busan, is set up as a venue showcasing advanced technologies from drones to aerospace, defense, safety, and geospatial information all in one place. During the exhibition, the 'DSK Conference,' attended by civilian, government, military, industry, academia, and research officials, will cover the latest trends in drone-related technologies, including 5G-based communications, AI autonomous flight, and applications in military, logistics, and smart cities.
