Innovative technologies that will lead the next-generation battery market have gathered together. On the 3rd, the Korea Battery Industry Association held the "InterBattery Awards 2026" ceremony at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, and announced the final selection of 12 companies that presented next-generation innovative technologies.

LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, SK On, and Lumpler won awards in the battery category.

LG Energy Solution's grid-based ESS (Energy Storage System) product, the "JF2 DC LINK 5.0," was recognized for its high safety based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and its all-in-one container structure, enhancing the competitiveness of power infrastructure. Samsung SDI unveiled its "High-Energy Prismatic Battery," the first prismatic cell to achieve a density of 700Wh/ℓ. It boasts a range of 800km on a single charge and ensures safety with heat diffusion prevention technology. SK On enhanced both battery system flexibility and safety with its "Prison On Vent Cell," which allows for flexible design of the vent location (gas exhaust device).

Startup Remplir won an award for its LFP prismatic battery, developed using domestic technology and certified by the Korea Chemical Industry Association (KC).

In the materials category, EcoPro BM won for its LFP manufacturing technology using direct synthesis, and LG Chem won for its high-temperature, thermal runaway-retarding plastic material.

In the equipment category, China's Lead Intelligent's dry electrode system, Jarvis's high-speed CT inspection system, and TW's ultra-high-speed complex equipment were recognized as innovative devices that maximized productivity.

Park Tae-sung, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Battery Industry Association, stated, "This awards ceremony confirms K-Battery's acquisition of ultra-high-density and safety technologies essential for future industries such as AI and robotics. We will strengthen our role as a platform for global supply chain cooperation."

The winning products will be exhibited in a special exhibition hall at the "InterBattery 2026" exhibition, held at COEX in Seoul from September 11th to 13th. This exhibition will be the largest ever, with 667 companies from 14 countries participating in 2,382 booths.
